Benchtop freeze dryers are suitable for many small-scale freeze-drying applications. LyoDry Benchtop freeze dryers have a 5Kg ice condenser capacity, meaning that they will process up to 5Kg of ice created from the product moisture per batch. They are often used with an acrylic chamber and tray accessory for bulk freeze drying.

If you’re seeking larger capacity freeze drying, without paying automated pilot-scale freeze dryer prices, the LyoDry range of freeze dryers includes more budget-friendly options, such as the LyoDry Midi and LyoDry Midi Pro, which have an 18Kg ice condenser capacity.

Like the benchtop freeze dryer, the LyoDry Midi is modular, so you can choose your drying chamber and accessory. It can be used with the standard acrylic chamber and tray accessory, or, for larger capacity, the LSCC10 ten-tray drying chamber.

The LSCC10 (pictured below) offers ample volume, with ten trays, each measuring 450 mm x 345 mm x 30 mm, providing a total drying area of 1.5m². It’s available unheated as standard, with optional heating to 60°C, and an optional manifold valve attachment for flask drying. The chamber is also available with just five shelves (part number LSCC5).

If you need more control, such as data logging, pressure control, analysis, USB and Ethernet connectivity, the LyoDry Midi Pro includes this added functionality. It also features a colour touch screen and, when paired with a heated chamber, allows use of pre-programmable freeze-drying recipes—simplifying the process even further.

Both the LyoDry Midi and LyoDry Midi Pro are lab-scale freeze dryers with the potential high capacity freeze drying without the pilot scale price tag.
